Reader! When I’m writing, I try not to repeat words. In fact, the custom GPT/Claude skill I built for editing my copy, The Shreditor*, highlights anywhere I’ve used the same word or phrase too close together without meaning to. So either it’s going to go nuts on this email, or — if it’s behaving well today — it’ll recognize that I’ve used the following over and over deliberately: “Shrimp Club,” “investment,” “best investment” and “worth it.” Reviewing new interviews and past applications of Shrimp Club members reminded me how many initially had the same hesitation you might have if you’ve been eyeing the program (my 8-month Live Mentoring Party AKA mastermind). Namely: “It’s a lot of money. Will it be worth it?” And then, so many go on to call it “100% worth it” and “the best investment” they’ve made in themselves and their business. To quote a conversation with Dr. Stephanie Oswald, who signed up for a second round: “[Shrimp Club is] the best investment I've made for myself because not only have I learned a lot, but it's connected me with amazing people. I highly recommend it as a way to invest in yourself and your business. I've made my investment back easily within my business just because of showing up stronger for myself. I'm charging a lot more for what I'm offering than I have before. I was definitely undervaluing my [college] admissions coaching. So I feel like the investment has come back to me faster than I thought it would.” And if you surf through the testimonials on the Shrimp Club page, you’ll find the phrases “best investment” and “worth it” all over them. Obviously, I can’t guarantee you’ll make back your Shrimp Club investment. But I can guarantee the greatest community of people anywhere. (You’ll also find the words “community” and “people” repeating all over the info page.) And I can promise that, whatever you come into Shrimp Club to do — finally write that book; publish that Substack; recognize what you’re great at and go all in on it; become unapologetically you in your business; write way more powerfully and more like yourself; send consistently engaging, money-making emails to your list — I’ll be 100% invested in you and your success. We kick off next Tuesday, October 13th. The deadline to apply is this Friday, October 9th. (If you’re a last-minute type, no shame — you’re my people.) Check out Shrimp Club and apply here. xoLaura PS - As I was writing this, I came across this post from brilliant email pro and podcaster Eman Ismail. It’s not about me, but it speaks to the feeling a lot of my Shrimp Club members have after they sign up: “I paid a lot of money (worth it) to get coached by my fave biz owner for 1 yr…and I have never felt so free.” OK, I really included it to throw “worth it” in there one more time. Speaking of, the Shrimp Club application takes about ten minutes, and is worth it for the creative and business clarity you’ll get out of it alone. PPS - *If you own Inbox Hero, The Shreditor is now in your members’ area. (Shrimp Club members get it too.) I’m happy to report, it got the joke and only flagged one repetition, which was a legit catch: If you’re wondering, the reason I cut repeated words in my writing is because they make it flabby and, well, repetitive. I’ve trained my Shreditor to catch any of my pet peeves (without inserting new ones). Love Shrimp Mail? Forward this to a friend so they can get in on the action and sign up below.

"Yours are the only emails I actually open and read" - a regular reply in my inbox since 2009...and I'll bet in yours, too, once you subscribe and learn by pure, lazy osmosis to become the most compelling writer around. That said, no promises on improving your moral character.
Reader! Is the end near? I’m not sure what to believe. We all know (those of us who are human and not AI bots or non-biodegradable Smart Water bottles) that being alive means we’re going to die one day. Maybe that’s far off. Or, according to recent warnings about AI, it could be curtains for all of us at once, possibly even before the next season of The Pitt. Either way, we all get that if there’s something meaningful we want to accomplish — write a book, launch a course, build a community,...
Hey! We writing together today? If you haven’t signed up for this Shrimpers-only live writing sesh with Terri Trespicio at 3pm ET, get on it. Now then — Every once in a while, I get an email reply from a Shrimper who admits they haven’t bought anything — like this one, who calls himself a “freeloader” and seems to think he’s out of place as a Shrimper. First of all, not “my demographic”? Here’s what I wrote back: And second — would I love for everyone who subscribes here to buy something,...
Hey! Since I got back from Greece, I’ve been very busy…planning the next trip to Greece. I’m obsessed. I can’t explain it in any way that doesn’t sound hackneyed — being in that water makes me feel alive. Is it a water-sign thing (Scorpio)? A back-in-the-womb thing? Actually, scratch that. I’m now picturing a trauma-healing water ritual they did on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip (RHONY Legacy) where the women were each cradled by a practitioner while floating like fetuses in their...
