Yeah… Last summer, I was “attacked” on social media. I put that in heavy quotation marks because it wasn’t directly. More in the sense of a post that made me wonder, “Is this about me?” I don’t know if it was, specifically. But it easily could have been. The post — by someone I like and respect — criticized authors who’ve been published only once and then have the audacity to create and sell a course on writing and/or launching a book. Normally, I would’ve been like, “YEAH, YOU TELL ‘EM! WHAT’S WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?” Instead, I was like, er… hi. 🙋🏻♀️C’est moi. Because yep — After writing, publishing, and selling the everlovin’ focaccia out of my first-ever book, Tough Titties… And making it onto the USA Today bestseller list, which made it a national bestseller… I had so much to share about the whole process, that I dared make it into a course: Book Launch Hero. *Ducks* I know, where do I get the chutzpah, right? Yes, I second-guessed myself into oblivion. Would anyone want to learn from a first-time author when there are enough NYT bestsellers with book courses to fill a Taylor Swift concert? But people kept asking to pick my brain. And my brain was fresh from the launch. And so it was easy to document, package, and teach:
That’s all it takes to create a valuable online course! If you think you’re not qualified just because you’re not the world’s foremost expert and haven’t been invited to speak at SXSW or TED… That’s a mind game. And it’s going to keep you stuck. This, on the other hand, will change your whole mindset and catapult your sweet 🍑 into action.
